When it comes to giving your canine medicine we have found that making it a fun experience for them makes it easier to administer. As we travel the nation going to different shows like SuperZoo, Denver Pet Expo, Wheeler Farm, and others. We have found that when we mix DermaNERV & Pyntril with a little bit of Peanut Butter dogs not only like it, they beg for more! Now there are things to look out for when giving our top of the line products with this yummy spread. And the number one concern is quality.
A lot of customers always ask “Is Peanut Butter Good For Dogs” and generally speaking YES! However not any old peanut butter will do. When looking for a good brand we recommend NON-GMO, USDA ORGANIC, VEGAN, PALM OIL FREE, & NO SALT. phew! I know, were asking a lot. The brand we recommend is called “Spread The Love” and its found conveniently on amazon. Now you don’t have to follow these rules if you don’t want to. The major #1 rule to follow is this… Do not give them any peanut butter that contains xylitol.
Why should you avoid xylitol? Mainly because when this sweetener is digested it is quickly absorbed into the blood stream, resulting in a potent release of insulin from the pancreas. This rapid release of insulin causes a quick and profound decrease in the levels of blood sugar (hypoglycemia), an effect that can occur within 10-60 min after eating xylitol. This effect can be life threatening, try to avoid.
